Dark side gossip emerges from GDC, with pundits pointing a very big finger at LucasArts and a Star Wars game to end them all. According to sources at last week's Game Developer's Conference in San Jose, California, LucasArts is currently hard at work on a game based on the villainest villain on Planet Star Wars, Darth Vader.
"They're being seriously cagey about it, but apparently it's a third-person action affair with the player taking on the role of Vader," one spy told Eurogamer. "It's a major Lucas project."
Activision, the publisher of LucasArts games in Europe, issued the standard response today. "There's no comment on matters of rumour and speculation," a spokesperson told us.

The game is expected to be announced at E3 or in the run-up to the American show, in normal Lucas style. The Star Wars games portfolio is looking somewhat anorexic at the moment, with only Star Wars Battlefront and Star Wars: Republic Commando currently doing the Force thang on the Lucas roster.
While Activision played the closed-mouth comedy game today, Star Wars fans around here were incapacitated with excitement. "I can already feel his icy grip on my throat!" said one, as we pulled him out from under an Xbox.
Although there's currently no firm talk of a prospective platform, we'd imagine a multi-platform launch is on the cards with PS2 as the lead - a fitting role for the console affectionately known as Darth Vader's toaster...
Hopefully the run-up to E3 will show more on the Vader game and shed a great deal more light on LucasArts' ongoing plans to milk unending piles of cash from the greatest science fiction franchise in history. |

Like the idea of having Vader as the main character, though dunno if he would suit running along. As usually he's quite slow. But if they have him slow in the game it'll be annoying getting around.
All games I mentioned in first post are PC games. Though yeah topic is open to all platforms, unless you wanna create a new topic for Xbox or PS2 or whatevers. _________________ www.richard1973.co.uk www.addad.co.uk |

Vader is quite slow - but could still be able to use force speed a times and no doubt would have a cool array of funky vehicles to travel arround on!

This sections about new games - surely its irrelevant what platform they come out on?!
- Besides playing games on PC's is wrong and unsocial!

KOTOR III in the Works, Believes IGN
Posted By Mark on January 10, 2006
IGN has begun its own predictions for the coming year, and there's no surprise to see a mention of KOTOR III within the list. As we here at TFN also predicted, a third title in the RPG series is most likely, and according to the IGN crew its release date could be set between late 2006 and early 2007 for the next gen systems.
The game should feature more seamless interaction between NPCs and the lead character, as well as better, more economic interactions between party members. We (IGN) predict the combat system will go entirely realtime, as opposed to partially realtime (the way it was in KOTOR 1 and 2), and RPG fans will be able to enjoy more distinct shades of gray recognized by characters instead of the black and white distinctions made in the first two iterations of the series.
What has come as a surprise, however, is the hint at Mercenaries II. IGN has come to learn that a sequel between LucasArts and now long time partners Pandemic is well in the works and should see a 2006 release.
Neither the above have been officially confirmed from LucasArts themselves. Hopefully, they will be soon. Thanks to JediJones420 for the alert. |

Heh nah didn't mean it in the way PC games here , Xbox over there!!! I meant if someone was reading and went 'ohhhhh stalker is coming out!' then ages later find out it's not for PS2.
Easy solution, top of each post just state what platform _________________ www.richard1973.co.uk www.addad.co.uk |

KOTOR III On Xbox 360?
Posted By Dustin on January 11, 2006
Thanks to a tip-off in our video games forums we have uncovered information that indicates that Knights of the Old Republic III will be coming out on the Xbox 360. Word is that a UK gaming magazine printed a list of forthcoming Xbox 360 titles, including KOTOR III, which is reputed to be coming out in the fourth quarter of 2006. |
