I think I'm cursed this season! So I pick Vettlel who has either won or come 2nd all season long, then this happens!  Still at least he came back for 12 points, and Stroll, wow he did it, he got points when I picked him!

Race 8. Azerbaijan

Richard: Ocon & Stroll
Elton: Raikkonen & Magnussen
Tim: Raikkonen & Palmer
Steve: Perez & Stroll
Daryl: Ocon & Sainz Jr
Dan: Bottas & Vettel
Ryan: Raikkonen & Magnussen
Luke: Ocon & Wehrlein
Norma: Hamilton & Verstappen
Anton: Bottas & Ericsson
Guy: Ricciardo & Alonso
Kevin: Verstappen & Perez

After an extremely eventful and controversial Azerbaijan GP that saw Vettel drive into Hamilton, as well as Stroll take his first podium in F1, it also sees a new leader in the fantasy standings. Guy moves up five places and is now in top spot. Guy was the only person to select Ricciardo on his first win of the season. He is just one point above a very consistent Daryl, who again, scores decent points and this time with middle of the pack drivers.

Anton moves up two places to 3rd. Kevin slips three places to 4th after a very poor weekend. Verstappen and Perez only getting him one point a piece. Kevin shares the same points as Anton, but Anton has won two races to Kevin’s one.

Richard has managed to get himself back in the title hunt and is now in 5th, 10 points behind the leader. A great selection with Stroll and good points from Ocon.

Ryan slips down two places into 6th and sits only 3 points above Dan who climbed three places to 7th. Dan chose an aggressive strategy for Azerbaijan with Bottas and Vettel.

Tim had the worst weekend of the pack and only managed to score 1 point. He falls five places to 8th. He now sits only 8 points above his teammate Steve, who was the other person to use Stroll but got unlucky with a Perez DNF.

Luke is in 10th, 8 points above 11th placed Elton. Norma, in 12th, continues to close the gap on her nearest rival. She is 3 points away from Elton.

Singles Standings:
1. Guy 151
2. Daryl 150
3. Anton 145
4. Kevin 145
5. Richard 141
6. Ryan 136
7. Dan 133
8. Tim 129
9. Steve 121
10. Luke 115
11. Elton 107
12. Norma 104

Guy & Kevin sit at the top of the constructors standings but have their lead eaten into by 15 points. They lead Daryl & Dan by 13 points.

Between 3rd and 6th there are just 3 points separating four teams!
Ryan & Luke move into 3rd place, knocking Tim & Steve into 4th.
Norma & Anton remain in5th and Richard & Elton remain in 6th.

Constructors Standings:
1. Guy & Kevin 296
2. Daryl & Dan 283
3. Ryan & Luke 251
4. Tim & Steve 250
5. Norma & Anton 249
6. Richard & Elton 248

I thought I was out the picture, but Baku might have given me chance to get back up there!

I certainly wasn't expecting much from Stroll, I figured if he was ever going to score again it would be after his previous race as he'd still be on a high from that.  He was so close to come 2nd though, but I can't grumble with his 3rd place spot and out qualifying Massa.

Ocon also picked up decent points, but it could of been more if he hadn't collisded with Perez.  Over all a good weekend for me though!

Onwards and upwards!

We're nearly at halfway point and I don't think I've ever seen a more tightly contested fantasy season. From 1st to 8th it's under a race win (25 points).

Not everyone has used their full quota of elite drivers and there are some drivers, like Stroll giving massive advantages to some people. I think that Stroll selection may have worked out better for Richard than for when Vettel let him down.

And, from 1st to 12th (last), there is only a 47 point gap.

Race 9. Austria

Richard: Ocon & Massa
Elton: Hamilton & Raikkonen
Tim: Bottas & Hulkenberg
Steve: Vettel & Magnussen
Daryl: Massa & Hulkenberg
Dan: Perez & Palmer
Ryan: Ricciardo & Sainz Jr
Luke: Hamilton & Ricciardo
Norma: Ricciardo & Vandoorne
Anton: Stroll & Palmer
Guy: Vettel & Massa
Kevin: Bottas & Alonso

Guy remains at the top of the leaderboard after a non-eventful Austrian GP. He leads team-mate Kevin by 2 points in what is shaping up to be a great title battle, and the fact that they’re team-mates make it even more interesting. Kevin moved up two places this weekend.

There is a 16 point gap between 2nd place Kevin and 3rd place Tim. Both people selected Bottas as he won his second race of the season.
Tim moved up five places to jump ahead of 4th placed Daryl. Ryan, up one place to 5th, is 1 point behind Daryl.

There is still a tightly contested pack, from 6th to 10th there are just 8 points in it.
Richard in 6th leads Anton (7th), Luke (8th), Dan (9th) and Steve (10th). Out of that group, Luke had an impressive points haul, Steve’s was also decent and puts them both in the mix again.

Elton remains in 11th. He scored decent points but it wasn’t enough to move him up any positions. In a similar scenario, Norma remains in 12th and scored consistent points.

Singles Standings:
1. Guy 175
2. Kevin 173
3. Tim 157
4. Daryl 155
5. Ryan 154
6. Richard 149
7. Anton 147
8. Luke 145
9. Dan 142
10. Steve 141
11. Elton 130
12. Norma 122

Guy & Kevin sit comfortably in 1st place in the constructors standings. They opened up their lead by 4 points this weekend. They now have a 49 point lead over their nearest rivals.

Ryan & Luke move up one place to 2nd, as well as Tim & Steve also moving up one place to 3rd.
All top three teams scoring the best points this weekend.

Daryl & Dan slip down two places to 4th. However, there are just 2 points separating 2nd to 4th.

Richard & Elton move into 5th, displacing Norma & Anton who slip down to 6th.

Constructors Standings:
1. Guy & Kevin 348
2. Ryan & Luke 299
3. Tim & Steve 298
4. Daryl & Dan 297
5. Richard & Elton 279
6. Norma & Anton 269

I was hoping a little more from Massa as I expected more from Williams at Austria, but he still picked up points as did Ocon, so not too bad.

10. Great Britain

Richard: Hamilton & Grosjean
Elton: Ricciardo & Palmer
Tim: Massa & Magnussen
Steve: Grosjean & Hulkenberg
Daryl: Ricciardo & Vettel
Dan: Ocon & Sainz Jr
Ryan: Hamilton & Palmer
Luke: Raikkonen & Vandoorne
Norma: Hamilton & Palmer
Anton: Ocon & Sainz Jr
Guy: Verstappen & Stroll
Kevin: Massa & Hulkenberg

We are now at half way point in the season and following an eventful last few laps of the British Grand Prix that Lewis Hamilton dominated, it seems as though Guy is dominating the fantasy season so far.

Guy holds onto the championship lead for the third straight race weekend. He is 3 points clear of 2nd placed Kevin, who is also his teammate.
While the tussle at the top between the teammates is happening, 3rd place Ryan is lurking just 7 points behind the championship leader, and Richard in 4th is just 11 points behind the title leader. Not much in it at all between the top four. Ryan and Richard picking up a Hamilton win and putting them back into contention for the title race.

Daryl falls one place to 5th. He didn’t have a bad weekend, despite selecting Vettel who suffered a puncture on the penultimate lap and finished 7th, while Ricciardo stormed from the back of the grid to finish in 5th.

Luke moves up two places to 6th, 3 points ahead of Tim in 7th who fell four places.

Anton climbs up one place to 8th, sharing the same amount of points as 9th place Steve, but Anton has two wins whereas Steve has yet to win a race.

Norma finally moves herself off of the bottom of the standings as well as picking up her first race win of the season. She moves up two places to 10th.

Dan falls two places to 11th, 7 points clear of 12th and last placed Elton.

Singles Standings:
1. Guy 189
2. Kevin 186
3. Ryan 182
4. Richard 178
5. Daryl 171
6. Luke 164
7. Tim 161
8. Anton 152
9. Steve 152
10. Norma 150
11. Dan 147
12. Elton 140

Guy & Kevin remain at the top of the constructors standings. They’ve now been there for 8 straight race weekends, however, 2nd placed Ryan & Luke took a 20 point chunk out of their lead and are just 29 points behind them.

Richard & Elton move up two places to 3rdm tied on points with 4th placed Daryl & Dan, although Richard & Elton have more wins.

Tim & Steve slide two places to 5th after scoring the worst points out of all the teams this weekend.

Norma & Anton remain in 6th but close the gap to their nearest rivals and are only 11 points adrift.

Constructors Standings:
1. Guy & Kevin 375
2. Ryan & Luke 346
3. Richard & Elton 318
4. Daryl & Dan 318
5. Tim & Steve 313
6. Norma & Anton 302

As much as I wanted Ferrari to win the race, I needed Hamilton to win for the fantasy points!  Shame Grosjean didn't sneak into the top ten, but that aside it's nice to be a little closer to the top!

Was so glad Vettel got a puncture. haven't cheered like that for years. I'm not a Hamilton fan but putting some money on him at the start of the season kind of makes me one this year. Plus, I really can't stand Vettel.
I loved Verstappen's team radio, 'He wants to play bumper cars'.  Laughing

I'm predicting Norma to win this season. It's such a close field and she still has some great drivers left. But, it all depends when they're used.
