Stubbs The Zombienutshell = 3rd person slash 'n' hack.
Weird time period concept, it's based in the future, but the future of how America 1950's would see the future. Imagine Back to the future 2 but with a 50's look.
There's a lot of things about this game thats crap and annoying, but because it's so different and has nice touches and concepts it keeps you playing till the end.
Slash 'n' Hacks generally are boring crap with a few limited moves / combo's that don't change throughout the game. This one has your traditional 2 main attack moves, if it just had them alone, you'd be bored straight off. But it keeps you playing because the novelty of making people attacking you turn into zombies and then they then attack the humans, is fun
The best thing about the zombies you create is you can use them strategically to fight, and without them you will loose, so at times it makes you think ahead on how you are going to tackle certain areas.
As the game continues your body starts to have more functions like splines you can throw (used as grenades) rollling heads (like grenades) farts (turn into ermm gas grenades). And an evil dead type hand you can use to possess people, this can be quite handy against the soldiers so you can then shoot people.
The best thing about this game are the little one liners and in joke sketches, such as the Gasbot pumping fuel into the car, and such lines as:
'arghh my penis!! I mean arm!'
'oh no my arm, I'll never juggle again!'
The downside of the game!
----------------------------------
Takes a while before you can start running! After landing when you jump, you pause before walking again, and therefore have to waite a bit before you start running again, Not being able to stop eating someones brain till Stubbs is done. Those points sound picky, but during the more hectic parts of the game can be really annoying.
The movement of vehicles, especially the jeep. As the game was made using Halo's engine, every vehicle has that hovering feel to it, and the spastic mouse movement control to go with it.
The GFX look dated, Halo was 2003 but if you were to compare it to modern A list games it looks very poor and bland, but the characters arn't bad and Stubbs looks pretty good.
But those annoying parts aside, it's a fun game, it's not too big so it doesn't get too tiring, though towards the end ya start thinking I hope this ends soon, and it does
The soundtrack is one of the best things to this game too, it has a great 1950's rock n roll set of tracks, unfortunately you only hear them on the intro and in a few key parts of the game such as the Diner and Disco. If there was an option to turn music on during the game, I think this would of made it much more fun to bounce ya head along too while chomping away on brains
Overall, good fun, but looks a bit bland and has some annoying movement issues.

ya cant really complain about him being slow to run or pausing when he lands, hes pretty sprightly for a dead guy.
the vehicles were pretty shit yeah.
also i think it would have been nice to have had some overall idea of what was going on and objectives, it feels very meyandering and aimless alot of the time.
its a good game though, prolly best in short burts of frustration reliving head bitage.
id really like to see a sequel, i think they could go somewhere really good with the concept.

Yeah the pausing on landing only became noticable when up against the army people and I just wanted to run for cover. Yeah for a dead guy he's quite the athlete.
Tucker mentioned about the 'aimless' where next problem, sometimes it was like that, but othertimes it had the green arrow to help out, though ironically the green arrow would only show up after you have found your way.
I hope they continue it too with the above features fixed. Was it a low budget game? I think so.
Play.com has it released on PC for Feb 2006, so if there is a sequal may take some time as it's not out yet.
